Generator Subsystem
The
centerpiece for the first incarnation of our power plant is a Multiquip
45KVA diesel generator, mounted on a trailer so it can be easily moved as needed. This
would be a monster of a generator for a home power system, but we're not running
a home. This is a small ranch with a software development firm located on site.
We can't afford to have our computers down more than a minimal amount, so we've
purchased a generator we believe will be reliable for a decade or more.
Click on the generator picture to go to a web site with specifications for
the unit. So far, we're quite happy with the unit.
We've purchased a 1000 gallon double-walled diesel tank for fuel storage as
well. This diesel fuel is used to power our tractor as well as running the
generator.
