Emryld Siberians Standard of Conduct
We have created our own Standard of Conduct, which we follow in our breeding
practices. In addition to this personal standard, we have voluntarily adopted the Codes of
Ethics from the following organizations.
Our Standard of Conduct
- We provide information on the characteristics and properties of the breed
to interested individuals.
- We maintain a safe, clean and sanitary facility for all stud dogs,
bitches, adult dogs for sale and puppies for sale.
- We breed only for the purpose of improving the quality of the breed. We
will conscientiously plan each litter of puppies for sale, selecting a stud
dog and bitch to be mated based on their pedigrees, conformation and
temperament.
- We will be keep informed about inherited health problems in my breed
- We will do appropriate health clearances on all breeding animals. Copies
of these health clearances will be available to buyers of adult dogs for sale
and puppies for sale.
- We will not knowingly misrepresent the characteristics of the breed, nor
falsely advertise, or mislead any person regarding the performance of any dogs
for sale or puppies for sale.
- We do not breed any male or female until they are both physically and
mentally mature, and we do not continue to breed any male or female beyond an
appropriate age for the breed.
- We will comply with all federal, state or provincial and local government
laws and regulations concerning the keeping of dogs.
- We provide only AKC registered puppies for sale
- We will not release any puppy until it is at least eight (8) weeks old
- We are concerned with the type of homes in which they are placed. Because
of that, we will make buyers aware of their responsibilities as dog owners. We
will not sell or donate dogs to commercial dog wholesalers or pet shops or to
any other person or organization that will resell them to such organizations.
- We will keep accurate records and retain those records for a minimum of
five years. These records will include: stud service contracts, pedigrees, all
litters of puppies for sale, and all dogs/puppies sold.
- We refuse to deliberately degrade any fancier, their dogs, or their
kennel.
- We pledge to be a resource for buyers of puppies or older dogs that we have
sold for the life of the dog.
Upon transfer of any puppy, we provide the buyer:
- A properly executed AKC Registration Certificate for all show quality
puppies. Pet puppies are sold under a spay/neuter contract only with an AKC
Limited Registration. Registration materials for pet puppies are withheld
until proof of spay or neuter is received.
- A right of return contract. Puppies can be returned for any reason, for
the life of the dog.
- A written, three-generation (or more) pedigree.
- A health record including a diet, inoculation and parasite control record,
and health warranty.
- Basic diet and care information.
- A one week supply of puppy food.
Health Warranty
We require new owners to bring their new puppy to a veterinarian for an
evaluation at their own expense within the first 48 hours after taking delivery
of the puppy. If any health problem is found, the puppy must be returned
immediately for a full refund of the purchase price. A written statement from
the examining veterinarian must accompany the request for refund. Any time after
the first 48 hours, the puppy may be returned for any reason for the life of the
dog but no refund will be given.
