Emryld Siberian's Volcano + Cognac Breeding

This litter (AKC WS044885) was born May 21. Mom is our Cognac, and Dad is our Volcano.

All seven puppies were healthy and active. All of the puppies are red/white in color. Eye color is split between blue and amber. Cognac's eyes (below) are a very pleasing amber color, which looks very nice with the rest of her coloring.

Because red/white puppies have light colored eyes, it takes longer than usual to discern between blue and amber eye color. We didn't attempt to make a definitive judgment on eye color until they were at least 4-5 weeks old. Our breakdown of best guesses is below.

All of these puppies have been placed. If you would like a puppy to join your family, please keep watch for the next litter when it comes this winter. To see the photos, click on the individual "name" links, which are currently listed as TBD.

All of these puppies are being placing with families with a spay/neuter agreement. That means that their registrations are marked "limited" and they are not to be used for breeding. All of the puppies will receive the following care:

  • dew claws were removed when they were 2 days old
  • they were wormed with Nemex II beginning when they are 2 weeks old
  • their first puppy shots were be given at 6 1/2 weeks of age, and their second shots will be given at 9 1/2 weeks of age if they are still with us at that time
  • each puppy will be implanted with an AVID microchip prior to leaving our care.
  • puppies are released to their new homes starting at 8 weeks of age.

Eye Color

It is impossible to tell eye color when puppies are first born, and becomes easier after about 4 weeks of age. Right now, it appears that all but two of the puppies will have amber eyes. One of the females is definitely blue-eyed, and one of the males is bi-eyed.
