Emryld's Pirate Treasure - White Female

This girl is pure white, and has blue eyes. She has an ultra-soft coat like her father Nikki, and beautifully shaped, small, close-set ears like her grandfather Volcano. We expect that she will grow up to be a truly beautiful girl.

We're started calling her 'Pirate' because she was treated for an eye infection starting at 2 weeks of age and had one eye stitched shut while we waited for the infection to go away. At this point, her stitches are out and it is apparent that she is blind in one eye. Her vet said he suspected her cornea was scratched in play with a littermate, and that we did not notice it right away because she was just beginning to open her eyes.

We do not expect any other complications from this infection, but we also do not expect her to be able to see out of the injured eye. She'll need to be placed with a family that does not have any aggressive dogs in their household because she will not be able to defend herself as well as if she had sight in both eyes.

Pirate has now gone home with a loving family from the SF Bay area. We think she'll be very happy with them.

It is removed now, and she is still healing. The eye is swollen and looks cloudy. In the photos you can still see her best features: a full, ultra-soft coat, well-shaped head, and beautifully set ears. We believe she is otherwise show quality, but with her eye the way it is she cannot be shown.
