Emryld's Volcano + Cognac Breeding

The second new litter (AKC WS256835) of 2008 arrived on 24 February 2008. Mom is our Cognac, and Dad is our Volcano.

We expect these puppies to have a mixture of amber and blue eyes, because their parents have amber and blue eyes.

No Name Gender Coat Color Eye Color Available*
1 Tikaani male Red/white amber LON
2 Draco male Red/white amber GON
3 Kobe male Red/white bi-eyed NGU/FLO
4 TBD female Red/white TBD BEN
5 Sunset female Red/white amber SHI
6 Keyra female Red/white TBD KNU
7 TBD female Red/white TBD WON

All of these puppies will be placed with families on a spay/neuter agreement. That means that their registrations are marked "limited" and they are not to be used for breeding. All of the puppies will receive the following care:

  • they are wormed with Nemex II beginning when they are 2 weeks old
  • their first puppy shots will be given at 6 1/2 weeks of age, and their second shots will be given at 9 1/2 weeks of age if they are still with us at that time
  • each puppy will be implanted with an AVID microchip prior to leaving our care.
  • puppies are released to their new homes starting at 8 weeks of age.

Eye Color

This litter is expected to have half blue and half amber eyes because Volcano is blue-eyed and Cognac has amber eyes. Any combination is possible including one of each color eye or even eyes with both colors in a single eye. In the case of this litter, the eyes are looking very hazel right now. A puppy we kept from a previous litter with the same parents still has hazel eyes which have never turned amber, so you just never know.

Gender

Siberian males and females have personalities which can differ greatly from one puppy to another. For pet puppies, selections should be made primarily on personality rather than on gender and color. Females are often more aggressive than males that are neutered at an early age. The size difference between males and females is small -- an average of 15 lbs. Look carefully at our adult males and females on site to see what size to expect from an adult Siberian.

Altering

We recommend neutering at 4 months to discourage territorial marking by males. We recommend spaying as early as your veterinarian will perform the operation so that your puppy does not have to go through the first season. It is our firm belief that early alterations help keep your Siberian puppy's personality developing correctly as a pet, and help to suppress the more primitive aspects of an unaltered Siberian's personality.

Availability

Puppies are available for selection by people on our pick list, in the order of deposits placed. Please visit the contact page for information on how to reach us if you would like to inquire about availability.
