Project: Villa Vista off Avenida La CrestaThis project's purpose was to clear an access path and a pad area so that the vacant lot could get a percolation test done prior to closing the sale. The owner's didn't want to get too carried away with a large-scale clearing project. Still, it was necessary to meet the test requirements so that the sale could close in a timely fashion.
Starting out, you can't see any access onto the parcel. The brush on the site has an average height of perhaps 15 feet, and it is so thick you can't walk through it without getting pretty scuffed up.
Here you can get a sense of the scale of the brush. The little blue & white object in the middle of the photo is a six-year-old boy who is roughly 3 1/2 feet tall.
Now Steve's starting to make some progress on an access route. There were small washed out areas in some spots that were filled in, but mostly it was a matter of removing brush and smoothing out the access pathway. The Cat® 246 is busily making its way through the overgrowth.
This is a close-up of the activity as its happening.
The completed access road.
Steve started out by making a cleared spot for the pad. The brush was carefully flattened and cleared, then it was moved out of the way. Finally, the pad was cleaned off.
The pad is now cleared off to the extent the owners wished. This small project is done! This page was last modified on
